  • Cybersecurity legends will gather in London for Black Hat Europe 2025, December 8-11.
  • Among the dozens of speaker sessions, five stand out for their headline-worthy intel and practical insights the community needs to hear.
  • Don’t miss our special session on AI Unleashed, December 10th on the Thought Leadership Stage.

One of the best things about my job is the opportunity to travel to events and talk about the world of Infosec and Cybersecurity. The Black Hat events are a can’t-miss experience where I get to educate folks, meet new friends, and catch up with old ones. It’s a wonderful privilege, and I soak it up.

Black Hat Europe 2025 is poised to be a pivotal event to end the year with unparalleled opportunities for professionals, researchers, and thought leaders to connect and advance their knowledge. If you're considering attending, do. It's an investment that will pay dividends.

The conference is well known for its in-depth technical trainings and cutting-edge briefings. Every year, attendees gain valuable insights into the latest vulnerabilities, emerging threats, and innovative defensive strategies. As every good cybersecurity practitioner knows,  direct exposure to new research and real-world case studies is crucial for staying competitive in a changing, uncertain landscape.

The exhibition hall at Black Hat Europe is a bustling hub of innovation, showcasing a diverse range of security solutions from leading vendors and startups. This is your chance to discover new tools and technologies that can enhance your organization's security posture, engage directly with experts and get hands-on demonstrations of the products shaping our industry. All of these resources will equip you to evaluate solutions that address your organization’s specific security challenges.

Join a global cybersecurity community, under one roof

Beyond the formal sessions, Black Hat Europe fosters an environment of knowledge sharing. The discussions, informal gatherings, and interactions with a diverse group of cybersecurity experts contribute to a richer understanding of the industry. It's a platform where you can learn from the collective wisdom of the cybersecurity community and contribute your own insights.

The real-time collaboration makes Black Hat Events more than a conference, but  a vital platform for professional development, strategic insights, and community building in the cybersecurity domain. They’re also undeniably fun.

Don’t miss out on these key sessions (including mine)

AI Unleashed: Witness the Next Generation of Cyber Defense and Offense
Speaker: Paul Miller  |  Security Strategist, Broadcom ESG
Speaker: Dick O'Brien  |  Principal Intelligence Analyst, Broadcom ESG
Date: Wednesday, December 10 | 10:55am-11:20am ( Business Hall Theater B )

On December 10th, join legendary Threat Hunter Dick O’Brien and me at 10:55 on the Thought Leadership Stage. In just 25 info-packed minutes we’ll dive deep into the forces reshaping cybersecurity: Agentic AI, LLMs, and ML.

Dick will present the Red Team view, exposing how attackers already use AI and how autonomous agents enable even faster, more efficient intrusions. Representing the Blue Team perspective, I’ll pull from my detection and response expertise to demonstrate AI-driven detection, automated incident response, and the bad-actor-blocking power of adaptive defenses. Together, we’ll show how AI shifts the attacker-defender balance. We’ll explore the current capabilities and limits of these technologies, and project likely near-term trajectories for cyber conflict and defense.

We can’t wait to connect with fellow practitioners to see how we’re best suited to help with the challenges this era of AI brings to enterprise security teams across the globe. As experts in this space, we love exploring the best ways to invest in cybersecurity that anticipates emergent threats and avoids common pitfalls. If you’ve got questions about how AI can evolve your security practice, we’ve got answers. Come to our talk, or find us at Booth 507. We’re here to educate, collaborate and suggest a solution custom-tailored to your team.

We’re in great company

In a world of non-stop threats by bad actors, we’re always better together. Check out some of the other talks I plan to attend. As you can see, Black Hat Europe promises to educate, entertain, and equip you with new defensive strategies.

You Win Some, You CheckSum: A Kerberos Delegation Vulnerability
Speaker: Eliran Partush  |  Security Researcher, Silverfort
Speaker: Dor Segal  |  Security Research Team Lead, Silverfort
Date: Wednesday, December 10 | 2:30pm-3:00pm ( ICC Maritime Suite, Victoria 6, Level 3 )

Identity and Authentication is an attack surface like no other–complex, and full of easily exploited design flaws. I spent a very long part of my career hardening Active Directory Environments, and normally when I see a reported vulnerability I nod sagely and say “Yep, that’s how it works.” This talk is clearly not that, and a kerberos delegation vulnerability is a novel thing to see up close. When talks like this happen, I like to set a stopwatch to see how long after disclosure we see our first exploit in the wild.

Project Brainfog: Hacking Smart Cities One Building At A Time–A City Of A Thousand Zero Days
Speaker: Gjoko Krstic  |  Offensive Security Researcher, Zero Science Lab
Date: Wednesday, December 10 | 1:30pm-2:10pm ( ICC Maritime Suite, Victoria 5, Level 3 )

IOT hacking? Physical world interaction?  A thousand zero days? I’m in. This looks like a fun talk—if your definition of fun is a horrorshow. We’re surrounded by devices at all times, and the idea of a whole city being “IOT wormed” is literally the plot of a blockbuster film. I can’t wait to see this one. I may need to bring popcorn.

The Post-NVD Era: A Call for Global CVE Decentralization
Speaker: Jerry Gamblin
Date: Thursday, December 11 | 2:30pm-3:00pm ( ICC Maritime Suite, Victoria 4, Level 3 )
Tracks: Policy, Enterprise Security

Seeing potential for a single point of failure in the Government funding of MITRe’s CVE work, the idea that we may need a new distributed framework for handling vulnerability reporting and tracking has become a hot topic. This debate is near and dear to my heart as I generally support distributed networks and solutions. I’m looking forward to seeing this talk by our previous podcast guest, Jerry Gamblin.

Nation-Scale SecOps: How CERT PL Scans Poland
Speaker: Krzysztof Zając"
Date: Thursday, December 11 | 3:20pm-4:00pm ( ICC Maritime Suite, Victoria 6, Level 3 )
Track: Application Security: Defense

I always find talks about the experience of doing something in an exceedingly niche environment fascinating. National cyber defense may be niche, but the geography is vast, the challenges are huge, and the stakes are high. I’ll recommend listening for new tactics and lessons to apply in your own environment. This should be a great talk for practitioners.
