We’ll Never Stop Fighting For You

2024 was a great year. Together, we’ll make 2025 even better.

Earlier this year, when Broadcom united two iconic cybersecurity brands to form the new Enterprise Security Group, I knew we had something extraordinary. These two brands—Symantec and Carbon Black—laid the foundation for many core elements of the cybersecurity industry, from endpoint detection and response (EDR) and data loss prevention (DLP) to application control, world-class threat hunting, and more. It quickly became evident that we could deliver a differentiated portfolio of market-leading solutions designed to protect organizations of any size.

Enterprise-grade security for all

I call it enterprise-grade security for all. The concept is simple enough: Attackers and their tactics are growing more sophisticated, aided in large part by off-the-shelf ransomware kits and attack tools that make it possible for threat actors of various levels of expertise to target organizations of any size. That means the aperture has widened for both attackers and their victims. Small to medium-sized businesses that once safely assumed they were of no interest to organized cyber criminals are now very much at risk. Add attackers’ increasing use of AI automation to the mix and it’s clear these companies are no longer off the radar.

Every organization, no matter its size or sophistication, needs the same level of protection that the largest enterprises have enjoyed for years. At Symantec and Carbon Black, we’re focused on democratizing the cybersecurity defenses designed to protect the world’s largest, most targeted organizations by making them available to any company, whether they have a small security team or a mature SOC.

We’ve spent much of 2024 creating a robust ecosystem to do just that.

A new approach for meeting customers where they are

This year, we made waves when we launched the Catalyst Partner program, a bold reimagining of the channel software sales model. Representing a substantial investment of time, resources and funds, the program has established eight key partners that represent the Symantec and Carbon Black business in their respective territories across the world. Through enhanced collaboration, streamlined enablement and a focus on providing value to partners and customers alike, we’re working with Catalyst Partners to activate their own channels to sell, implement and support our solutions. The result is a global network of local experts trained to offer guidance and support on all Symantec and Carbon Black solutions.

The Catalyst Partner program has quickly become a benchmark for innovation in the industry. Its positive reception from analysts highlights the growing recognition that traditional channel approaches must evolve to meet the complexities of today’s cybersecurity landscape. It also underscores customers’ increasing preference to work with local experts who know what they need and can deliver it in ways that make sense for their business.

Innovations for defenders

With Broadcom’s renowned commitment to investing in R&D, we continue to innovate on uniquely effective defenses. For instance, a recent battery of independent, real-world tests showed that Adaptive Protection, a feature exclusive to Symantec Endpoint Security, blocks potential living off the land (LoTL) attacks–and faster than traditional security tools do. Adaptive Protection prevents anomalous (and potentially malicious) use of otherwise legitimate software—the definition of LoTL attacks, which represented nearly half of all attacks from 2021 to 2023. And it achieves this without impacting productivity and workflows.

You can look for additional innovations coming from us in 2025 across all cybersecurity domains. In fact, no matter where you are in your cybersecurity journey—no SOC, emerging SOC, mature SOC—we have solutions that fit your most pressing security use cases today and a path to more advanced protections tomorrow. We're evolving ahead of threats and keeping you protected at every step, so you can focus on what matters most to your business.

We’re in this fight with you

Cybersecurity isn’t like any other technology sector. Our customers are in a battle for the future of their business. They are fighting to protect their data, to shield their customers from harm and to remain operating even as threat actors work to shut them down or hold their assets hostage. Symantec and Carbon Black customers around the world trust us to keep them safe, and they rely on us to commit ourselves to quality so the defenses we provide them are available when they need them.

We take that trust seriously, and we work to earn it over and over, every day.

Rest assured that as we greet 2025 and all its challenges, we will never stop fighting for you. There is simply too much at stake, and you are too important for us not to fight with everything we have.

Thank you for your trust and faith in Symantec and Carbon Black. And we look forward to defending you in the year to come.
