Broadcom named one of America’s Best Cybersecurity Companies 2025

Newsweek and Statista R call Broadcom “most outstanding” across five critical security categories

  • Newsweek and Statista R recognized Broadcom as one of the top cybersecurity providers of the year in its inaugural list that “honors the most outstanding cybersecurity firms safeguarding the digital landscape today.”
  • Broadcom was recognized in five of eight critical categories: Application and Data Security, Infrastructure Security, Operational Technology and IoT Security, Security Operations and Managed Services, and Threat Detection and Response.
  • Broadcom’s Symantec and Carbon Black portfolios include solutions that continue to deliver game-changing innovations, including Incident Prediction, which predicts an attacker’s next four or five moves with up to 100% confidence.

It’s always a thrill to see others recognize the contributions and value of the work you do. That just happened today in a big way.

Newsweek, in conjunction with Statista R, just named Broadcom one of America’s Best Cybersecurity Companies 2025. In the listing, which “honors the most outstanding cybersecurity firms safeguarding the digital landscape today,” Broadcom is recognized in five of eight categories across the spectrum of cybersecurity protections. Here’s where Newsweek and Statista R say we shine–and, from our perspective, which Symantec and Carbon Black solutions have helped us rise to the top.

  • Application and Data Security. For our customers, our appearing as a top vendor in this category may not be much of a surprise. Carbon Black pioneered application control, which allows only software you trust to run in your environment. An added benefit is that according to a Forrester Total Economic Impact study commissioned by Carbon Black, App Control delivered a 207% ROI over three years for a composite of real-world customers. As for data security, hold onto your hat: Symantec DLP was a driving force in our being recently named Google Partner of the Year for Data Security, while new reports from IDC and Radicati Group recognize Symantec DLP as a leader in the data security market.
  • Infrastructure Security. Protecting every corner of your infrastructure is a big job–one Newsweek and Statista R have determined we have on lock. From Symantec Endpoint Security and its Adaptive Protection feature that stops living-off-the-land (LOTL) attacks to Symantec Secure Web Gateway (SWG), whose comprehensive protections are now capable of boosting Secure Service Edge (SSE) bandwidth by up to 100X compared to competing solutions. In fact, with the entire Symantec network security portfolio, from the Cloud SWG foundation to advanced security capabilities like Web Isolation and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) to a full SSE solution, we deliver acclaimed defenses that organizations need.
  • Operational Technology and IoT Security. Here again, Carbon Black App Control shines. Designed to protect the kind of operational technology and IoT assets that many security solutions overlook, Carbon Black App Control takes a zero trust approach to files and applications running on virtually any asset (from medical devices to ATMs) requiring first that the software is trustworthy before it’s allowed to run.
  • Security Operations and Managed Services. SecOps teams know Symantec and Carbon Black solutions intimately. They’ve trusted them for years, in large part because we designed these solutions to protect the world’s most targeted organizations. But now that even the most sophisticated threat actors are targeting small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with enterprise-grade threats–a pivot from the days when nation-state bad guys concentrated on large corporations and government agencies–we’ve reworked our delivery model to ensure that local experts are bringing enterprise-grade Symantec and Carbon Black protections to organizations of all sizes. Our Catalyst Partner Program puts sales, service and support in the hands of trusted partners on six continents. So now SecOps teams of any size–even IT teams tasked with cybersecurity–can properly protect their assets against the baddest of the bad.
  • Threat Detection and Response. Threats evolve quickly, and some might even evade your first line of defense. When that happens, endpoint detection and response (EDR) becomes a vital added protection that helps you stop threats before attackers get what they came for. EDR is another category we pioneered decades ago, and today Carbon Black EDR gives security teams customizable defenses and crystal-clear visibility, so they can detect and respond to threats in real time. In fact, a Forrester Total Economic Impact study commissioned by Carbon Black determined that a composite customer realized a total ROI of 427% over three years using Carbon Black, while also reducing the risk of a large-scale data breach by 40%.

It’s all in the data

Newsweek and Statista R selected Broadcom and other top companies after analyzing thousands of public reviews and insights from more than 3,000 independent IT decision-makers. A panel of experts evaluated us based on criteria including service quality, product satisfaction, professional standards and response times.

The data-driven evaluation produced a list of 83 leading vendors out of more than 3,500 cybersecurity providers in the United States alone.

A fitting tribute to two legendary brands

The cybersecurity marketplace is populated with companies with short track records. Some burn hot and flame out. Others are absorbed and ultimately forgotten, their once-proud brands rendered invisible under the shadow of the acquiring company.

Broadcom made sure that didn’t happen with Symantec and Carbon Black, two legendary cybersecurity brands that continue to make waves with game-changing innovations. Broadcom created the Enterprise Security Group, home to these two award-winning portfolios, and it backs those brands with an acclaimed R&D engine that in fiscal 2024 spent $9.31 billion on one thing: innovation.

That commitment to innovation continues to shape the industry. We recently introduced Incident Prediction, a new feature from Symantec that combines AI with extensive threat intelligence to predict an attacker’s next four of five moves with up to 100% confidence. Think about that: A solution that puts the advantage back in defenders’ hands by predicting attackers' behaviors, preventing their next move in the attack chain (even when they’re using LOTL techniques), and quickly returning the organization to its normal state. It’s a feature of Symantec Endpoint Security Complete, and it’s a game changer.

Legends aren’t born–they’re built

The truth is this: Legends aren’t born–they’re built. They’re built over years of doing a thing–or in this case, many things–very well, and working hard not to disappoint the people who rely on you. That comes from innovating constantly, and earning the trust of customers all over the world. And that’s how Symantec and Carbon Black, Broadcom’s premier cybersecurity brands, became the legends they are today

We’re grateful to Newsweek and Statista R for recognizing the contributions these remarkable solutions are making every minute of every day to organizations around the world. And we will work hard to earn our place on this list next year, just as we have for decades.
