Modernize. Defend. Comply.

How one global IT and security firm is helping the EU do it all

  • EU cyber threats are escalating. With ransomware attacks, phishing, and nation-state activity on the rise, intensifying pressure is being felt across all sectors.
  • Modernization and compliance are more urgent than ever before as digital complexity and compliance continue to evolve alongside cyber risk.
  • Arrow Electronics is guiding organizations through cybersecurity challenges with resilient solutions.

A recent ENISA Threat Landscape report paints a sobering picture of the growing threats and cyber attack trends sweeping the European Union. Over the past year, nation-state threat actors have intensified their operations across the EU.

Nearly every sector is affected—with public administration, transport, and digital infrastructure and services taking the lead. Ransomware has emerged as the most impactful threat, while phishing and vulnerability exploitation are attackers’ vectors of choice.

As threats continue to grow, EU orgs are simultaneously expected to move faster and prove compliance, and still deliver seamless experiences. Technology leaders now must manage messy environments that commingle legacy systems, evolving regulations, and hybrid work models—creating complexity that slows transformation and increases risk.

Global IT and security firm Arrow Electronics, a Broadcom Catalyst Partner, is helping European enterprises address rising security challenges by implementing defense strategies built to strengthen resilience, simplify operations, and streamline compliance. By putting innovative solutions to work in ways that solve the unique challenges of each of its clients, Arrow is guiding organizations through today’s complex digital landscape with confidence.

IT needs to modernize

We’ve found security teams are eager to update their legacy cybersecurity tools, but they fear potential business disruptions and out-of-budget expenses

Banking on the future

One leading European bank, faced with the challenge of upgrading its Blue Coat appliances, turned to Arrow for help.

The bank needed a modern web security platform that could ensure continuity, stability, and enhanced performance for its 10,000 users spread across 13 countries. Arrow delivered. With seamless migration to an advanced web security platform built for the complexities of modern tech and threats, the project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget. The results exceeded expectations—delivering cost efficiency, technical reliability, and risk mitigation.

Simplified and secure

Organizations are also rethinking remote access strategies. A recent CRN piece credits surging VPN threats and the complexities of hybrid environments as accelerants toward modern cloud-based approaches such as Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA)

A real estate and infrastructure group serving 10,000 employees was unhappy with their VPN’s poor user experience. With the technology’s license soon set to expire, the company consulted Arrow for an alternative solution. Within 90 days, Arrow had successfully transitioned the company to a Secure Web Gateway with ZTNA. This shift not only modernized their remote access capabilities but also simplified management, reduced endpoint complexity, and strengthened their security posture.

Adopting Zero Trust

In a similar scenario, a global IT services provider partnered with Arrow to retire its legacy VPN and adopt Zero Trust architecture. The transition was completed in just three months, with no operational downtime. Arrow’s modern approach to security solutions allowed the company to support hybrid work models while ensuring operational continuity in a landscape that never stops changing.

Digital transformation secured

And yet another major modernization push came from a European public transport operator migrating critical workloads (including machines, servers, devices, and email) to the cloud. Legacy on-prem systems were falling behind, and Arrow showed up with an innovative, comprehensive endpoint solution to protect both the organization’s data and systems, enabling secure digital transformation at scale.

Meeting shifting compliance requirements

Regulations in Europe are advancing just as quickly as threats. With the EU Data Act now in effect (and GDPR and sector-specific mandates growing more complex), compliance is no longer a checkbox—it’s a moving target.

Data Loss Prevention for Microsoft 365

A Nordic government agency recently needed to protect sensitive data across Microsoft 365 applications like OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams. The agency consulted with Arrow to implement a cloud-based Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution. The A+ solution offered complete visibility and seamless integration across the agency’s digital ecosystem. Not only did it enable the agency to meet strict regulatory mandates, it also resulted in 40% cost savings—marking a critical win for public sector IT leaders balancing innovation with accountability.

Stronger compliance with lower overhead

Similarly, a Swiss insurer facing growing scrutiny under GDPR and data protection laws turned to Arrow for help. The insurer needed airtight protection for sensitive client data and reduced manual oversight. Once again, Arrow advocated for a robust DLP solution, this time paired with advanced services, to facilitate stronger compliance, reduce operational overhead, and enhance visibility into how sensitive data moves. This streamlined approach allowed the organization to focus on innovation and growth rather than being bogged down by legacy security bottlenecks.

Helping customers navigate complexity

By harnessing the advanced capabilities of Symantec and Carbon Black solutions, Arrow delivers better business value and tailored outcomes that meet the unique needs of each industry. Guided by seasoned experts and a customer-first approach, organizations gain the support they need to modernize securely, simplify operations, and stay ahead of evolving threats. Whether it’s upgrading web security at scale, protecting sensitive cloud workloads, or creating a Zero Trust environment, Arrow consistently drives measurable results.

As organizations across the EU continue to face challenges related to legacy modernization, cloud migration, compliance, and hybrid workforce enablement, Arrow and Broadcom stand ready to help. Explore the case studies to discover what's possible for your own organization.
